VISUAL ERGONOMICS FOR IMPROVED WORKING CONDITIONS

Psychosocial Risk Factors

They include the dangerous and unsafe conditions in the work environment; workloads when they exceed the worker's capacity; lack of control over work (possibility of influencing the organization and development of work when the process allows it) working longer shifts-hours than those by the Federal Labor Law, rotation of shifts that include night shift and night-shift without recovery and rest periods; interference in the work-family relationship, and negative leadership and negative relationships at work.

Prevention and control measures

AviX Ergo allows documenting, assigning responsible parties, criticality, commitment date, and classifying those necessary actions and an action plan to prevent and / or mitigate psychosocial risk factors and, where appropriate, to eliminate the practices opposed to the favorable organizational environment and the acts of workplace violence, as well as the actions implemented to monitor them.

Employer Obligations

Establish in writing, implement, maintain and disseminate in the workplace a psychosocial risk prevention policy that includes:

  • a) the Prevention of psychosocial risk factors
  • b) the Prevention of workplace violence, and
  • c) the encouragement of a work-friendly organizational environment

Identify and analyze the psychosocial risk factors, in accordance with the provisions of paragraphs 7.1, subsection a), and 7.2, of ILO or MEX NOM-035-STPS or US equivalent, in the case of work centers with between 16 and 50 workers .., thus as:

Identify and analyze the psychosocial risk factors and evaluate the organizational environment, in accordance with the provisions of paragraphs 7.1, subsection b), 7.2 and 7.3, respectively, with ILO or MX NOM-035-STPS or US equivalent, in the case of work centers that have more than 50 workers.

    ERGO Study phases

Phase 1: PROACTIVE.

  1. Planning and Preparation
  2. Ergo Analysis - involves quantifying the risk factors that cause MSDs and then prioritizing them according to their rank within a given operation
  3. Risk Analysis - Identify Risks; plans are put in place to “fix the job” by modifying the layout or design of existing workstations, tools, and equipment to fit the people doing the work

Phase 2: REACTIVE.

  1. Risk Reduction. The action causing the injury or psychosocial risk must be stopped or causes reduced.
  2. Risk Mitigation. The person must be treated and the cause of the injury or psychosocial risk must be identified and eliminated or its occurrance has to be reduced.
  3. Elaborate Ergo Action Plan
